Aquathon & Triathlon series
April 24-25
From 6am to noon on both days, there are two pretty special sports participation events at Aspire. On April 24, you can take part in the Aquathon Series, with participation events depending on the age of the competitors, starting with kids as young as eight and going into the 40+ category, as well as team events for men, women and mixed.
To register, go to lifeinaspire.qa. Aspire Zone, nr Villaggio, Al Aziziyah (4447 6786). Then, the following day, at the same location, there is a triathlon series, again sorted into age groups. To register, go to stuweb.co.uk/online-entry.php.

Brahms
April 25
Johannes Brahms’ classical music is among the most beautiful on the planet. Because of this, we thought it was worth a special mention as the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing his Violin Concerto in D Major and his Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, conducted by Dmitrij Kitajenko.

Literary Majlis
April 28
Renowned Turkish author Iskender Pala will be leading a literary majlis at the MIA as part of the Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture. He will read an excerpt of his work and lead a discussion on how history and literature are inextricably combined. He will be talking in Turkish but will be translated into other languages. It’s free entry.
