French speaking films
The Doha Film Institute will be showing numerous films as part of the Francophone Cimena Week (La Semaine du Cinema Francophone). This is a spotlight on contemporary cinema from the French speaking world. Three films that will definitely be screened are Two Days, One Night, following Sandra, who has a weekend to convince her colleagues to give up their bonuses so she can keep her job, Grigris, with the main character of the same name dreaming of being a dancer, despite a paralysed leg and Corbo, chronicling one character’s shift from activist to terrorist.

Food Festival
The annual food extravaganza is back at the Museum of Islamic Art Park and bound to be as good as ever. The massive exhibition of all things food is hosted by the Qatar Tourism Authority and will have tents showcasing the latest food trends and tastes, with chefs and top restaurants having stalls, too. It is bound to be jam-packed as the dining and food scene in Doha continues to get better year-on-year.

Qatar mega marathon
They’re going for another world record, with the last one not running in the end (no pun intended). Al Sadd Sports Club hopes that the half marathon will have the most runners ever so it goes in the book of records. Everyone is invited and it is free to enter.

Annual student concert
This concert is designed to showcase the most talented Arab and Western young musicians from schools in Doha, and it is free entry for anyone who wishes to come in and listen, with a varying mix of musical instruments being played.

Cook with chef Marco
Chef Marco Arlotti will show you some tips and tricks of the trade to enable you to cook Italian dishes in the comfort of your own kitchen. You can book a cooking class at your desired time, provided there are a minimum of four participants from 9am-noon.
