25-42: Fashion

51 East: The luxury department store is synonymous with cutting edge fashion. You will find many a high end brand represented here, whether it’s clothing, watches or cosmetics.
City Centre Doha (4425 7777)

Agent Provocateur: This saucy lingerie shop has a breathtaking interior. The underwear is as sexy as it gets (it better be, given the hefty bill).
Pearl-Qatar (4495 3876 ext 2271). Open daily 10am-10pm

Bershka: Perfect for affordable studentwear – thumping psytrance will accompany you round the store and get you in a foot-stomping, festival mood.
Landmark Mall (4421 3773)

Cugini: The first boutique to open on the Pearl, and owned by two cousins, Cugini’s stock consists of lesser-known designers, so a smaller chance of anyone copying your look if you shop here.
Pearl Qatar (4495 3876 ext 1471). Open daily 10am-10pm

The Deal: Outlet store with a little bit of everything, including brands such as Lacoste or Ralph Lauren. Men and women can find a garment for themselves, plus something for the home.
Al Saad (4442 4043). Open Sun-Thu 10am-1pm, 5pm-10pm; Fri 5pm-10pm

Diesel: The warehouse du jour of jeans and accessories. While you’re there, don’t forget to sniff out Diesel’s perfume collection, a line of scents worth paying for.
Pearl Qatar (4495 3876 ext 1701). Open daily 10am-10pm

Hugo Boss:
The clothing here consists of comfortable modern suits and streetwear, and the shirts bring real quality for the extra cost.
Pearl Qatar (4495 3876 ext 1521). Open daily 10am-10pm

Kurt Geiger: There are ample styles of shoe to try here, whether you prefer wobbling about in vampish, sky-scraping stilettos or hitting the office in modest embellished flats.
Landmark Mall (4486 0133)

Marks & Spencer: The Doha versions of this store deliver the same quality underwear, clothing and fashion accessories loyal fans have come to expect from the brand.
Landmark Mall (4488 0101)

New World: Thought of by some as the Harrods of cheap shops; a department store crammed with wonderful and often quirky stuff, such as clothes, shoes, cosmetics and even electrical goods.
Ras Abu Abboud Street (4443 2712). Open Sun-Thu 9am-1pm, 4pm-10.30pm; Fri 4pm-10.30pm

Oasis: According to Oasis, the colour for the autumn-winter season is ‘Camel’, and is offering a range of knits and leather dresses in this new discovery just for you.
The Mall (4467 8881)

Paris Hilton Boutique: Yes, the trendy socialite has her own store in Doha, selling pieces that reflect her buoyant personality – there are bags everywhere.
Royal Plaza (4413 0453)

Paul Frank: This clothing and accessory range suits all ages, but we reckon its mascot, Julian the Monkey, is more suited to the kidswear.
The Mall (4466 2313)

Pepka Wear: One of the few places in Doha to pick up second-hand items. Also has a dress-making, altering and design service.
Behind Al Saad (5545 5783). Open Sun, Mon, Thu 9am-4pm; Tue, Sat 9am-noon, 4pm-8pm; Wed 2pm-8pm

Pull & Bear: We like the T-shirts at this Spanish store: only QR55 each, but they look like the kind of thing you tried to track down in a vintage store.
Landmark Mall (4487 6856)

Reiss: Reiss – much like Karen Millen – straddles the middle ground between high street and designer. The sharp, modern tailoring of the clothes is evident in both the men’s and women’s lines.
Landmark Mall (4486 8361)

Salam Fashion: Another outlet store, has been known to stock the likes of Hugo Boss and DKNY goods in the past. Big discounts on a range of items.
The Centre, behind Ramada (4432 2478). Open Sun-Thu 10am-10pm, Fri 4pm-10pm

Villa Moda: Boutique fashion to be found at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. Stocks a number of big names, such as Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, with designer clothing and accessories for all.
Ritz-Carlton Doha (4484 8000). Closed temporarily at time of press
